What some of our alumni say……

The Actors Workshop played a vital part in me shifting from acting as a hobby to acting as a career choice. Clara’s classes and her team of teachers around her offered a variety of different and detailed approaches and preparation for both drama school and what comes after. When I did arrive at drama school, it was lovely to be able to build upon the strong foundation that the actors workshop had given me. I really felt ready to commit to learning full time and to make the step up.

Nowadays whether it’s on set or in the rehearsal room, I still find myself recalling things I was taught in Bristol all those years ago, and I wouldn’t be where I am without it. I would recommend The Actors’ Workshop to any young actor who seriously wants to get into the industry!

I’ve been at The Actors Workshop since I was 15, coming up through the teenage junior classes and onto the Part Time Foundation course.

The Actors Workshop understands that there is no such thing as talent. If you have a desire to learn, a need to create meaningful work and love working alongside other people, then that is more than enough to shape you into an artist; ready for not only drama school auditions but for the industry.

The staff will go to the ends of the earth to ensure that every single person in the class is challenged, motivated and nurtured, giving them a shot at being successful in their drama school auditions. Year after year, the staff are constantly assessing the curriculum, ensuring the foundations of our training is relevant and tailored to what the group needs, from self-taping tips to Shakespeare.

We are introduced to a wide range of industry professions in masterclasses and workshops which offers insight into the profession after drama school and more learning opportunities.

The Actors Workshop also understands that acting is not solely a skills-based profession, but one in which your wellbeing and personal development is essential, and this is tackled by regular stress management and body work sessions.

The Actors Workshop has ignited a fire in me that I don’t think will ever burn out.

I cannot find the words to express how immensely grateful I am to everyone at The Actors Workshop.

From the bottom of my heart, I encourage anybody who wants to go to drama school to audition for the Part Time College Foundation Course.

You will not regret it!

It is hard to find the words to express what The Actors Workshop has done for me.

It has essentially made it a possible for me to follow my dream to act.

The Actors’ Workshop is very much the reason I am training at a drama school. They teach you the fundamentals of acting at a professional level and guide you on how to succeed through the audition process. Not only did they teach me how to act and get the training I need to make my dream into a reality but I also had an incredible year with them, I enjoyed every second of the course and the people there!

I cannot tell you enough what the course has done for me and I honestly count myself extremely lucky that I was trained there.

The Actors Workshop has quite literally been a lifeline for me; all of the tutors are so invested in you as an actor and really work to challenge you in the best possible ways.

It’s so hard to pack all of the amazing things on offer into one paragraph because there are just so many! The training is rigorous, demanding and full of joy. You meet and create a great and long-lasting support network for going through auditions that could otherwise be hellish and isolating.

With The Actors Workshop you walk into any audition room feeling not just prepared, but confident and excited to get going.

The Actor's Workshop has been an anchor for me in lockdown, bringing me purpose and motivation during this difficult time.

Having just come out of my A levels, The Actors’ Workshop helped to give me that extra edge in auditions that my school teachers just couldn't provide, through the very professional and refined sessions we do each week. I have especially enjoyed the masterclasses as they are thrilling snippets of industry brought right to us and teach me things I would normally only hear about in acting books.

The highlight however has to be the amazing people that I have met and developed connections with that will forever be a part of my life.

Part of me wants to fail just so I can do it again!

The Actor’s Workshop has completely transformed my performance skills in such a short period of time.

I’ve had so much fun working with such kind, energetic industry professionals and I am confident that my hard work, combined with the various tutors’ teaching, will earn me a place in drama school.

The Actors’ Workshop holds the perfect balance between rigorous actor training and calm stress management, both of which I will always look forward to! I’ve rediscovered my love for devising movement and creating original work with other actors, which I would not have realised without the opportunity to explore that in class.

I am so very grateful to Clara and the team for everything they have taught me, and all the fabulous people I’ve met over my time on the course.
