Self-Taping Intensive

£120.00

An intensive weekend course for actors and drama school applicants.

Saturday/Sunday 11th & 12th July 2026 at our studio on Chatterton Street, Bristol BS1 6PR

A focused, industry-relevant weekend intensive designed to sharpen your screen acting skills and strengthen your self-tapes — whether you’re preparing for drama school auditions or building confidence for professional screen work.

This course, taught by industry professionals, is practical, supportive, and outcome-led. You’ll work on camera, receive clear direction, and leave with filmed material and tools you can immediately use for auditions.

No theory for theory’s sake.
No over-performance.
Just clear, usable screen technique.

This course is designed specifically for:

  • Bristol-based actors

  • Drama school applicants preparing for auditions

  • Emerging performers building screen confidence

  • Actors transitioning from stage to screen

  • Anyone wanting stronger, more truthful self-tapes

You don’t need extensive screen experience — just a willingness to work on camera and engage practically.

Across the weekend, participants will:

  • Develop grounded, truthful screen-acting technique

  • Understand how acting shifts for the camera

  • Work on short scenes with direction and playback

  • Learn how casting teams assess self-tapes

  • Record professional-quality self-tape material

  • Build confidence working efficiently under audition conditions

The emphasis is on clarity, specificity, and natural performance, not “big acting” or tricks.

Course format

  • Saturday: 10:00–16:00
Scene work, screen technique, and camera practice

  • Sunday: 10:00–14:00
Self-tape preparation and individual filming slots

Small group size ensures meaningful camera time, clear feedback, and individual attention.

You’ll leave with

  • Filmed self-tape material suitable for applications or practice

  • Stronger understanding of screen acting fundamentals

  • Increased confidence working on camera

  • Practical tools you can apply to auditions immediately

  • Clear insight into what casting panels are actually looking for

Why this course works

  • Designed around real audition conditions

  • Practical and outcome-focused

  • Ideal for drama school applicants and early-career actors

  • Repeatable skills you’ll use again and again

  • Led in a supportive, non-performative environment

This is about doing the work — calmly, clearly, and well.
