Create it. Shape it. Perform it

A Five-Day Intensive: 8th - 12th June 2026 from 10:00 - 17:00.

Have a story you want to tell — or a performance idea you’re ready to turn into something real?

This five-day intensive is an immersive, practical course for anyone interested in creating and performing their own one-person show. Whether you’re an early-career actor, a writer curious about performance, or a creative member of the public, you’ll be supported to develop original solo work in a focused, encouraging environment.

Across the week, you’ll explore the full process of making a solo performance piece — from generating ideas and writing material, through rehearsal and performance, to understanding how one-person shows are developed and presented professionally. The course balances creativity, performance skills, and practical industry insight, with hands-on guidance throughout.

By the end of the week, each participant will have written and rehearsed a key scene from an original one-person show and will perform it for a panel of industry professionals, gaining valuable experience, feedback, and confidence.

No previous experience of writing or producing is required — just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to explore.

This course is suitable for:

  • Early-career and emerging actors

  • Performers interested in solo work

  • Writers, storytellers, and creatives new to performance

  • Anyone looking to build confidence, creativity, and stage presence

Whether you’re building a career or exploring something new, you’ll be supported to work at your own level.

By the end of the course, you will leave with:

  • An original solo scene ready to perform

  • Greater confidence performing solo

  • Practical tools for developing a full one-person show

  • Insight into how solo work is pitched, programmed, and reaches audiences

  • Experience sharing work in a professional, supportive setting
