Embodied Confidence: Voice, Presence & Expression for Everyone
Embodied Confidence
6-Week Course for Non-Actors
Tuesdays 14th April - 19th May 2026 from 6.30 - 8.30pm at our studio on Chatterton Street, Bristol BS1 6PR
Confidence that feels real — not performed
Most people don’t struggle because they lack confidence.
They struggle because their body doesn’t feel safe being seen or heard.
We’re often told to speak up, be more confident, or just project — without ever being shown how to feel grounded, present, and at ease while doing it. So confidence becomes something we put on, rather than something we actually experience.
This six-week course offers a different approach.
Rather than teaching presentation skills or public speaking techniques, we work with the body, nervous system, voice, and attention — because that’s where real, lasting confidence lives.
Using tools drawn from actor training, embodiment practice, and somatic awareness, you’ll learn how to show up more fully in everyday life, without pretending to be someone you’re not.
This is confidence for real life in Bristol — conversations, groups, teaching, facilitation, creativity, activism, and community — not stages, boardrooms, or TED Talks.
Across six weeks, you’ll be guided through practical, experiential work to help you:
Feel more at ease and grounded in your body
Speak clearly without forcing, projecting, or performing
Handle visibility without shutting down or over-compensating
Stay present under pressure
Express yourself with honesty rather than polish
The work is gentle, grounded, and deeply practical — with space to reflect, notice changes, and build tools that actually stick.
There is no pressure to perform, no scripts, and no expectation to share more than you want to. Participation is always opt-in.
This course is for people who:
Speak, lead, teach, facilitate, or share ideas — formally or informally
Feel tight, self-conscious, blocked, or overwhelmed when seen or heard
Want confidence that feels embodied and genuine, not performative
Are put off by corporate training, “power posing”, or TED Talk energy
You do not need acting experience.
You do not need to be “good at speaking”.
This course is especially welcoming to Bristol-based therapists, facilitators, activists, educators, creatives, and community organisers — as well as anyone simply wanting to feel more at home in themselves.
Co-Directors, Clara Marullo and Jennifer Higham - both experienced professional actors, movers, and voice practitioners with many years of training and real-world practice behind them - will lead the course.
They bring deep understanding of how presence, voice, and confidence actually work — not as performance skills, but as lived, embodied experiences. Their approach is rooted in the belief that true confidence doesn’t come from trying harder or sounding a certain way, but from learning how to inhabit your body, your voice, and the space you’re in.
Drawing on actor training, movement practice, and vocal work, the tutors create a calm, grounded environment where participants are supported to explore at their own pace. There is no pressure to perform, no expectation to be confident already, and no sense of “getting it right”.
Instead, the focus is on awareness, ease, and self-trust — with clear, thoughtful guidance from practitioners who understand both the craft and the human experience of being seen and heard.
Each weekly session builds on the last, gradually integrating body awareness, presence, and voice into everyday situations — so confidence becomes something you live, not something you try to manufacture.
By the end of the course, you’ll leave with:
A personalised set of embodied confidence tools
Greater ease with being seen and heard
A clearer, more reliable voice
Increased self-awareness and self-compassion
Confidence that feels lived-in, grounded, and sustainable
Why this course works
Uses actor training without asking you to act
Grounded in embodiment, not performance or presentation skills
No corporate jargon, just a personalised set of confidence tools.
Designed for real people living real lives
Rooted in presence, honesty, and ease
This course is about showing up as yourself — with more ease, clarity, and presence.
